Waikato is Booming! Our Hamilton clientcontinues to grow within the construction industry and with a substantial forward workload, they're in need of an additionalIntermediate to Senior Quantity Surveyor### to join their experienced team.

Working across a portfolio comprising approximately 70% commercial construction and 30% high-density and bespoke residential developments, this is an outstanding opportunity to become part of a business that genuinely invests in its people and promotes long-term career development.
The role
Based in the Waikato's Head Office , reporting directly to the Directors and Project Management team, you'll take ownership of the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while maintaining strong financial performance.
As QS your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, tenders and pricing submissions
- Preparing Bills of Quantities and accurate take-offs
- Cost planning, budgeting and project forecasting
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Preparing and administering subcontract agreements
- Assessing, pricing and negotiating variations
- Preparing progress claims and payment schedules
- Monitoring project budgets, expenditure and cash flow
- Preparing monthly cost reports and commercial forecasts
- Contract administration, including NZS3910 contracts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintaining accurate project records
- Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, consultants, clients and subcontractors
- Preparing final accounts and project close-out documentation
About You
You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor who understands that successful projects are delivered through strong teamwork and trusted relationships.
To be considered you will have:
- Minimum 3-5 years' Quantity Surveying experience within the New Zealand or Australian construction industry (or similar)
- Solid understanding of the NZ building sector - Ideally across residential & commercial
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Solid knowledge of CostX and Procore (or similar industry software)
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge - good eye for detail
- Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Due to the collaborative nature of the business and the close interaction with the Project Managers and site teams, there is no work-from-home or hybrid working option available. You should be committed to living and working in the Waikato region.
